Monitor mount for four monitors: the most important questions
Four monitors are usually arranged two over two on an extended pole: the bottom row for the workspace, the top row for everything that needs to remain visible at all times. This is common in trading floors, control rooms, and development environments because it provides a lot of screen space with a small desk footprint.
How high should the top row be positioned?
Position it so that the bottom edge sits directly above the lower row, allowing you to view it with a slight upward glance. Tilt the top monitors downward so you don't have to crane your neck. Larger monitors will raise the height of the top row.
Are there any arrangements other than two over two?
Yes, the diamond layout: one monitor on top, two side-by-side in the middle, and one on the bottom. This is suitable for smaller monitors that you want to keep close to the center of your field of view. With 3IDEE® ONE, you can put this together in the configurator: Configure 4 monitors as a diamond.
How much weight does a mount for four monitors hold?
The load capacity applies per arm, measured without the stand. However, for the desk, the total weight matters: four monitors on one pole exert significant weight and leverage at a single point. For thin desk surfaces or glass, a desk reinforcement plate is recommended.
What should I do with eight cables?
Route them along the arms to the pole and down before you finish aligning your monitors. Leave some slack so that each arm can still be adjusted.
Does a monitor mount work with a height-adjustable desk?
Yes, the mount will move with the desk. Include the weight of the mount and monitors in the total load the desk motor carries, and ensure all cables are long enough for the highest setting, otherwise they may pull at the connectors when raised.
Will the mount fit my monitor?
If your monitor has a VESA mount and its weight without the stand is below the arm's load capacity, then yes. VESA means four threaded holes in a square on the back, usually 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 mm apart. If they are missing, there are VESA adapters available for your model. The fastest way to check is using the Setup-Finder: enter your monitor model to see compatible mounts.

The mount wobbles when I type – what should I do?
First, tighten the desk clamp, as it may loosen slightly in the first few days. If that doesn't help, the tabletop is likely too thin or too soft; a reinforcement plate under the clamp will make it more rigid. Also, an arm that is fully extended will sway more than one that is angled.
