VESA adapters for Dell: the most important questions
Do you want to mount your Dell monitor to a monitor arm or the wall, but nothing fits on the back? You will find the right adapter for every tested Dell model here. Each one is built for specific models and attaches exactly where the stand would otherwise snap into place.
Why does my Dell monitor not have a VESA mount?
Some slim Dell monitors are not intended for wall or arm mounting from the factory. For some models, however, the VESA mount is simply hidden under a cover on the back. The particularly flat versions have their own unique mount and require their own specific adapter.
How do I know which adapter my Dell monitor needs?
First, check the back for a removable cover. If you find four threaded holes in a square arrangement underneath, you don't need an adapter. If you find neither a cover nor threads, your model does not have a mount, and the adapter will provide one.
Which adapter fits my model?
The one where your full model number appears in the list. You can find it on the nameplate on the back. You can see the tested models for each adapter at the top and in the list below, or you can enter your model in the Setup Finder.
Do I have to drill or glue anything?
No. The adapter goes exactly where the stand would otherwise sit and is fastened with the included screws. Everything is mounted to your bracket in about two minutes.
Does the adapter fit my mount?
Yes, provided your mount has the VESA hole pattern of the adapter, 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 mm. This applies to desk arms, wall mounts, and stands of any brand. If your mount requires a larger hole pattern, a VESA extension will bridge the difference.
Will an adapter hold my monitor securely?
Yes. The adapters are made of plastics and metals with high tensile strength that retain their shape for years. Your mount determines how much weight is supported: its load capacity must be greater than the weight of your device without the stand.
Can I reattach the stand later?
Yes. Remove the adapter, insert the stand, and you're done. Because nothing on the device is drilled, glued, or opened, it remains in its original condition.

The adapter doesn't fit into the mount – what should I do?
Compare the full model number from the nameplate with the list on the adapter, including the suffix. Similar numbers often have different mounts. Never force the adapter into place.
The screws won't catch or are sitting crooked – what should I do?
Use the screws from the adapter bag, not the ones from the mount, and position them straight. Tighten them by hand first, then tighten them crosswise. If a screw does not catch, check whether it is too short or is hitting an edge before reaching the thread.
The monitor tilts forward on the mount – what should I do?
Tighten the tilt joint on the head of the mount. It is important that the weight of your device without the stand is within the mount's load capacity; a heavier device pulls harder on the joint.
The mount does not lie flush against the adapter – what should I do?
Check if the back panel is curved or if cable connections are in the way. Spacers provide the necessary clearance.
